Terms of Service

Last updated: August 22, 2026. These Terms of Service govern your use of vaen.ca and purchases from VAEN. By using the website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms together with the policies referenced on our website.

1. About VAEN

VAEN is an Ontario-based furniture brand offering made-to-order furniture, finish samples and related services. Our online store is hosted by Shopify.

2. Website use

You may use this website only for lawful purposes. You must not interfere with the security or operation of the site, attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, scrape the site in a manner that disrupts service, or use our content in a way that infringes intellectual-property or other rights.

3. Product information and handmade variation

We work to present product descriptions, measurements, images, materials and colours accurately. However, screen settings, lighting and photography can affect colour appearance. Hand-applied microcement, natural wood and other materials can show normal variation in tone, grain, texture and movement.

Unless otherwise stated, small dimensional tolerances associated with handmade production may occur. Material variation and reasonable handmade tolerances are not, by themselves, defects.

4. Made-to-order production

Most VAEN furniture is made to order. Lead times shown on product pages or order communications are estimates and may change due to custom specifications, material availability, curing and finishing requirements, order volume or events outside our reasonable control.

Custom or bespoke orders may require additional approvals and may be subject to separate quotations or project terms.

5. Prices and payment

Prices are displayed in the currency indicated on the website and may change without notice. Applicable taxes, shipping charges and other fees are shown at checkout or confirmed as part of a custom quotation where possible.

We may decline or cancel an order where there is an obvious pricing or listing error, suspected fraud, payment failure, unavailable materials, an unsupported delivery destination or another legitimate business reason. If we cancel a paid order, we will refund amounts due for the cancelled order.

6. Shipping and delivery

Shipping and delivery are governed by our Shipping Policy. Delivery dates are estimates unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing. The customer is responsible for providing accurate delivery information and for ensuring reasonable access for the ordered furniture.

7. Returns, refunds and cancellations

Returns, refunds, order changes and cancellations are governed by our Refund Policy. Custom and made-to-spec items may have different return rights from standard collection configurations, subject to applicable law.

8. Product care and warranty

Customers are responsible for following reasonable care instructions supplied with a product or displayed on the relevant product page. Product-specific warranty coverage, where offered, is described on the product page or accompanying warranty information. Warranty coverage does not extend to ordinary wear, misuse, impact damage, improper assembly, inappropriate cleaning products or damage caused by conditions outside the intended use, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

9. Intellectual property

The VAEN name, branding, website design, photographs, product designs, graphics, copy and other original content are owned by or licensed to VAEN and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. No licence is granted except the limited right to use the website for personal shopping and legitimate business inquiries.

10. Third-party services and links

The website may use or link to third-party platforms, payment providers, logistics services, social networks or other websites. Third parties operate under their own terms and privacy practices. VAEN is not responsible for third-party websites we do not control.

11. Submitted content and inquiries

If you send us project information, reference images, measurements or other materials, you confirm that you have the right to provide them. We will use submitted information as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry, prepare a quotation, develop an order or provide support.

12. Privacy

Personal information is handled according to our Privacy Policy.

13. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the website and its content are provided without guarantees that access will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, VAEN will not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising solely from use of the website or delays outside our reasonable control. Any limitation is subject to rights and remedies available under applicable consumer law.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without limiting mandatory rights you may have under the laws of your place of residence.
